Moneta Money Bank is one of the leading Czech banks. The new web portal Moneta.cz has set among its primary goals to strengthen the business performance of this digital sales channel.

Continuous development of the Moneta.cz portal solution since 2017

As MONETA Money Bank's digitalisation partners, we did not look at the creation of the new Moneta.cz portal as a project from the beginning, but as a product. We are constantly optimizing this product, improving its performance and adding new applications.

The website is built on the Liferay DXP portal platform in conjunction with the modern technology of the dynamic front-end library ReactJS. In 2024, the web portal underwent a major redesign in order to improve the user experience of visitors to the site.

The design was preceded by detailed research into brand identity and customer needs using qualitative and quantitative methods.

We transferred the banking portal to AWS Cloud so that everything works as it should, from a customer and business perspective.

Together with the client, we assembled a "role model team", which became a model for assembling other teams and so-called "labs".

Research and redesign proposal

Implementation: 10/2023 to 06/2024

The redesign of the new bank website was preceded by detailed research on brand identity in the form of qualitative and quantitative research methods with target groups (clients, non-clients, internal staff). In parallel, we gathered ideas and defined customer journeys, pain points, information architecture of the site and technical objectives that the redesign was to meet.

The redesign was based on 300+ user tests, 1000+ feedback from users of the original site, 10,000 user behavior recordings and 1000+ heatmaps and movemaps.

Resulting design and accessibility

Implementation: 01/2024 to 09/2024

Based on the research, a clean and easy-to-read design was created that makes it easy for users to navigate. Each icon and image was graphically modified to give the site a modern and consistent look. The site was designed with accessibility in mind, allowing for ease of use even for users with specific needs, such as people with visual or hearing impairments.

Graphic concepts were tested in the UX lab, and a design library was created with a consistent naming convention and the use of Foundations for icons, colors, and visual elements.

Optimised, robust and secure portal


We have succeeded in creating a robust, secure and sustainable portal that is optimized from a number of perspectives and metrics, such as ease of administration of the environment, UX optimization, site speed, Pagespeed index, Google Lighthouse index, RUM index, SEO, etc.

All of these optimizations improve the business performance of this digital channel, giving the bank an ahead of the competition.

Extensive migration to AWS Cloud from A to Z


The project involved more than 10 separate websites, thousands of content pages and modules developed specifically for MONETA Money Bank. Dynamic resource allocation and flexible performance scaling according to actual needs.

We achieved migration KPIs such as lead generation, zero impact on site SEO ranking or functionality for editors and customers.

Model team for agile transformation


Teams have verticalized and collaboration between teams has been set up. The agile way of working was supported by setting new communication rules.

A unified "tooling", shared know-how via an internal Wiki and tools for unified management of design elements across digital applications, the so-called Design System, were gradually introduced.

The UX process was aligned and integrated into the development. We started a DevOps approach. The business owner is involved on a daily basis.
